I welcome you to the web site of the Institute of Foreign Affairs.
Since its inception in 1993 and its reconstitution as a semi-autonomous body under the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in 1998, the Institute of Foreign Affairs (IFA) has played a pivotal role as a government think tank.
IFA aims to become a repository of knowledge on Nepal’s foreign relations and provide support to the Government of Nepal. It also focuses on capacity building for our Foreign Service officers through periodic training programmes. All of IFA’s activities are directed toward achieving these objectives.
As Executive Director, I am equally committed to building partnerships with domestic and international think tanks, policymakers, academia, media, and individual scholars to enhance our overall capabilities and the quality of our outputs. This collaborative approach ensures that IFA’s activities are well- informed and will effectively address contemporary global challenges.
Our website reflects our activities and partnerships with various interlocutors. We also aim to develop it into a comprehensive archive of IFA publications.
I look forward to receiving your constructive suggestions regarding the role and activities of IFA, as well as the contents of this website.
Prakash Kumar Suvedi
