Structure of the Institute of Foreign Affairs (IFA)
The Institute of Foreign Affairs is governed by a Governing Body formed in accordance with the Institute of Foreign Affairs (Formation) Order, 2011. The Governing Body guides and supervises the policies, plans, programs, and overall direction of the Institute.
The Minister for Foreign Affairs or Minister of State serves as the Chairperson of the Governing Body. The Executive Director of the Institute of Foreign Affairs serves as the Member-Secretary and is responsible for the day-to-day operation and management of the Institute.
The Executive Director is supported by the Deputy Executive Director, research, administrative, financial, professional, and support staff as required for the functioning of the Institute.
Governing Body
As prescribed under Article 2 of the Institute of Foreign Affairs (Formation) Order, 2011, the Governing Body consists of the following members:

Institutional Support and Research Capacity
The Institute is supported by in-house resource persons, interns, research, administrative, financial, professional, and support staff who assist in carrying out its day-to-day work, programs, research activities, publications, and institutional operations.
As part of its ongoing effort to strengthen research and policy engagement, IFA is working to launch a Roster of Resource Persons. The roster is expected to help the Institute identify and engage qualified experts, scholars, practitioners, and professionals to support research, training, dialogue, and policy-related activities.
