Avishek Bist, from Dhangadhi, Sudurpashchim Province, holds a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from New York University Abu Dhabi, graduating with the university's Founders Day Award. His technical background spans photonics, digital signal processing, renewable energy systems, with professional experience in data analysis. Currently serving as an Intern in the Clean Energy Cluster at IFA, MoFA, Avishek is investigating how cross-border hydropower Power Purchase Agreements between Nepal and India can incorporate domestic electrification obligations for local regions. His research proposes a Domestic Energy Access Package, a tiered policy framework linking export-oriented hydropower concessions to measurable rural electrification. He has attended COP28 in Dubai and the UN ECOSOC Youth Forum in New York, and organized Student Energy Summit 2023, as Vice Chair, in Abu Dhabi.
