Pradip Lamsal is a PhD candidate in Global Health at the University of Geneva, where his research examines why access to diabetes medicines in Nepal remains unequal, with particular attention to affordability, governance, and populations most often left behind. As a Technical Advisor under the USAID-funded Promoting the Quality of Medicines Plus programme, he has contributed to work on medicine quality, regulatory systems, and pharmaceutical governance. He has also attended the Global Health Delivery certificate programme at the Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health, further strengthening his grounding in implementation, equity, and health systems delivery.
His research interests connect with broader global efforts to improve insulin access in low- and middle-income countries, including initiatives supported by the Novo Nordisk Foundation.
Through the MoFA Fellowship, he aims to explore Nepal’s health policy challenges through an equity and diplomatic lens, particularly in the context of Least Developed Country graduation. His focus is on pharmaceutical security, regional cooperation, and global health diplomacy as practical pathways to protect access to essential medicines and reduce health inequities.
At the core of his work is a commitment to placing vulnerable populations at the centre of Nepal’s health, development, and diplomatic priorities, guided by evidence-informed policy rather than assumptions.
